Birthday weekend

The top picture is from the first snow of the year which was on Oct 12th, and that was the Monday after Olin's birthday weekend. The rest of the pictures are from the Dorothy's cabin the weekend after Olin's birthday. It was a bit chilly, but it was gorgeous. We had a great time. Its hard to believe my baby is 1 year old already. I scrolled back in the blog to see the pictures last year at the cabin. Babyhood is way too short and it goes by much too fast.

Birthday party

The birthday party was terrific!! We had lots of family and goods friends over. Olin is very lucky to have so many people care about him that live nearby. Olin had his very own cake. He started out quite delicately by picking off the blueberries that were the decorations. Quickly he discovered the frosting and then he finally found the meat of the cake. He took the whole thing to be serious business.

Birthday morning

Olin's 1! What a year! What a boy! We took some pictures by the river in the morning. He was in a pretty good mood.

The top picture is Olin at his very 1st state fair. He is sharing some watermelon with his dad.

The little girl in the top pictures is Olin's friend Georgia. She already turned 1. As you can see, Olin wanted a part of that cake. Georgia wasn't about to share.

What a terrificly busy summer! Olin is almost 1. I can't believe it. It was about this time last year that I was done with work. Time flies. So baby O is crawling around like a champ, pulling himself up on everything, cruising around and really enjoying playgrounds and outside activities. He's not walking yet, but Jessica (his babysitter) has witnessed a few seconds of independent standing. He eats just about anything I put in front of him and he babbles constantly. Nothing to clear in English, but it all appears to make perfect sense to him! We went to the zoo with cousin Xander and spent some time at Dorothy's cabin with Xander, Everett, the girls, Auntie J, and Grandma Shelly and papa John. Otherwise, we've been staying home enjoying the tomatoes and the end of summer!

Big boy, Big changes

Wow, time flies. Olin is 9 and 1/2 months and he is on the go!!! I thought he kept me busy before! Now, I can hardly take my eyes off of him. I can never tell what he may be getting into and I feel like he can do something new every hour of every day and I don't want to miss it. As you can see in the following pictures, we've had a very fun month. There were a few birthday parties. Olin got to sit with his great grandma and cousin Piper at Papa John's 64th birthday. And he stayed up late to celebrate his dad's 40th. He got to hang out with the Barmann twins on a nice summer day and we've had a picnic or two on the beach. He has been having a great time in the garden and he likes to share everything with his mom. He makes goofy faces sometimes and he likes to put everything in his mouth. His sisters have been keeping him entertained. They did a great job fashioning hair and a goatee out of bubbles. He has learned how to shriek like a little girl when they pick him up or do something he doesn't want done. But the biggest change is the crawling. There are a couple of pictures taken at the end of June where he was just figuring it out. He's an old pro now. And he can pull himself up on anything. Look out world!

Nate wanted everyone to know that his 8 month old son had some tiller time this weekend. We are on Lake Calhoun. Its kind of funny because that lake always brings back memories of skipping out on high school and laying around all day. And then I snap quickly back to reality when I notice I am on a sailboat with 3 children. Alot can happen in 15 years: )

And the Beginning of Summer

Otherwise, we have been doing typical summer things. Olin loves the swing. You can see him swinging with his 3rd(?) cousin Ella June. He also loves the Johnny Jumper which he uses as a swing as well as a jumper. In the picture, he is actually sideways (look at the blurred leg in the background). Johnny jumper is for sure my favorite baby accessory! And I love the picture of Addison loving on her little brother and baby boy loving right back! What fun times!!

Beginning of Summer, part deux

Olin's big sister Amelia graduated from Pre-school! She is very excited to start kindergarten. I asked her for a nice picture of her in her graduation cap. That girl cracks me up! God help us during her teenage years!

Beginning of Summer

I can never seem to get the text where I want it in relation to the pictures in the blog. So we'll see how this turns out. Olin has been camping! We had a terrific times in the North Woods outside of Hayward. Olin was on his 2nd Scamp adventure, but this time the girls were with and the Eikenberrys. The weather was perfect and there was a resident bear who would come through the campsite and play with Olin's toys at night. I tried to get a picture of Olin with the bear, but Olin's dad told me I wasn't allowed to get the baby close enough to the bear to take a picture. In hindsight, that was probably the right thing.

Olin is eating like a champ. And I love feeding him. I love the slobber, the mess, the food in the hair. I don't know why. Some of you may know what I'm talking about. In the picture, O-dog is loving on his peas and potatoes.
